In Irkutsk, was an open session on "abuse of extremism"

April 7 in one of Irkutsk university, passed an open exercise called journalism, freedom of speech and extremism. " The event was timed to the day of united action in support of "Khimki hostages . Session organized by anarchists and anti-fascists of Irkutsk. Among the speakers were representatives of the lecturers of the independent media center "Indymedia Siberia," Autonomous Action-Irkutsk and others.

As the name is not difficult to understand what was being said. Speakers presented a legislative framework, with all its vague wording and consequences. Also resulted in actual examples of abuse of the law "On combating extremist activity" and the use of other "legitimate" methods to "neutralize" the social, human rights defenders and journalists who are open about their views and beliefs. It was a question about journalists: M. Beketov, O. Kashin , Human Rights Defenders: A. Sokolov , T. Stetsura, N. Nizovkina ; social activists: A. Kutuzov , V. Leonov, D. Malyshkin, C. Sandin .Much attention was paid to "the Khimki business" and its main participants Gaskarova A., M. and D. Solopova Solopova. In the words of leading this whole mess in terms of these names was called not a single offense because, in most cases, the offense simply not the case, but the fact of participation of these people in social movements and public positioning of their beliefs - themselves against the ruling political elite.

In total, the open class was attended by about 30 people.Theme lecture provoked a lively response from participants, among whom there were many future journalists.
