The Tyumen Case has now been heard by the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg of Russia for two years. The defence is currently presenting evidence in court proving the innocence of our comrades.
Six substantive hearings are scheduled for August and the first half of September. We continue our fight for the freedom of Nikita Oleynik, Deniz Aydin, Yury Neznamov, Danil Chertykov, and Roman Paklin.
We are launching a fundraiser to cover the legal defence costs of the defendants in the Tyumen Case. We need to raise 560 000 rubles (circa 6200 euros) to pay for the participation of five lawyers in the upcoming six court hearings.

As a reminder, between 30 August and 1 September 2022, six anarchists and anti-fascists were detained in Surgut, Yekaterinburg, and Tyumen of Russia. They were subjected to brutal torture, including electric shocks, water torture, beatings, and threats of sexual violence. Based on confessions extracted under torture, they were charged with "creating and participating in a terrorist community". The charges were later made even more severe. The authorities refused to investigate the torture.
Kirill Brik, who entered into a plea agreement with the investigation, was sentenced to eight years in prison. The remaining defendants reject all charges against them. Roman Paklin's case has been reopened and is now being tried separately from the rest of the Tyumen Case defendants. He, along with the others, faces 15 to 30 years in prison. Nikita Oleynik, who has been designated by the prosecution as the alleged "organiser," could face life imprisonment. In Russia, no person with a life sentence has ever been released.
At present, support group is paying for the work of five defence lawyers. These expenses include travel, prison visits, accommodation, and transport, as our lawyers come from different cities. They are doing everything they can to prove our comrades' innocence. Even a small donation can make a real difference!
