Dima keeps his spirits up in detention and jokes a lot. He is a curious, outgoing person with a wide range of interests who, unfortunately, receives few letters so far.

As a reminder, Dima was first detained in 2023 over a post about a fundraiser for a lawyer for someone who had set fire to a military recruitment office. The teenager was questioned and released.
Soon afterwards, Dima was contacted by an “unnamed handler” from the Siberian Battalion, who offered him “help leaving the country”. Dima initially refused but changed his mind some time later. The person he was speaking to put him in touch with another “handler”, this time from the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), who asked the teenager to deliver Molotov cocktails to some people. FSB officers were waiting for him at the meeting point.
Dima was charged with preparing a terrorist attack, inducing others to engage in terrorist activity, justifying terrorism, participating in a terrorist organisation, and possessing and manufacturing explosives. Taken together, the charges could carry a sentence of 10 years in prison. His case is being heard behind closed doors at the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg. The next hearing is scheduled for 7 October.
Before his arrest, Dima lived in Serov, in the Sverdlovsk Region, and was studying logistics at college. He ran a Telegram channel called “Free Homeland”, where he promoted anarchist ideas and Ural separatism.
