Congratulate imprisoned anarchist Ruslan Sidiki on his birthday March 16

He will turn 38 years old. Ruslan Sidiki is a citizen of Russia and Italy, an electrician from Ryazan, an explorer of industrial areas, bicycle traveler, anarchist, and partisan. Last year the 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced Ruslan Sidiki to a record 29 years in prison. Two acts of sabotage against Russian military infrastructure carried out by Ruslan in 2023 were classified by the court as “terrorist acts.”
In letters, Ruslan described the feelings he experienced immediately after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army:
“There was a very unpleasant feeling that you could do nothing. I saw trains carrying military equipment, and out of despair I wanted to gnaw through the gun barrels with my teeth.”
After his arrest, security forces brutally tortured Ruslan in order to obtain a confession.
Currently, Ruslan is awaiting the appeal hearing of his sentence in Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 2 (SIZO-2) in the city of Ryazhsk in the Ryazan region. There he was also threatened with torture, but the threats did not go beyond words, and after this incident became public and a lawyer visited him, the threats stopped.
At the same time, the administration is trying to create unbearable conditions for the anarchist by other means; for example, books are not being allowed through to Ruslan.
