Ruslan Sidiki, an anarchist partisan, is currently imprisoned in Russia. Fires of freedom is an anarchist collective that supports Ruslan and other anarchist prisoners in Russia.
The venue where a concert in support of Ruslan Sidiki was planned informed the organizers that all agreements were annulled and published a corresponding post on their channel. The concert was supposed to take place this Saturday at the K19 space in Berlin.
The K19 collective referred to an anonymous letter (we do not know its contents) concerning a member of Äppelwoi Komitee. The group had assisted in organizing the event, but the mentioned member was not going to attend the concert.
Whatever the claims against Äppelwoi Komitee, K19 could have simply requested to exclude them from the organization of the event. Instead, the K19 collective chose to punish everyone by following the worst repressive logics — depriving imprisoned anarchist partisan Ruslan Sidiki of crucial solidarity and support.
Ruslan Sidiki was sentenced to 29 years in prison for an attempted attack on a military airfield and sabotage of railway tracks used by the military. Ruslan sought to weaken the Russian war machine and resist Russian military aggression in Ukraine. After his arrest, Ruslan was brutally tortured. In the Ryazhsk detention center, where he was transferred after sentencing, he was again threatened with torture.
Fires of freedom urgently asks for your support for Ruslan in this situation. To protect him from torture and pressure, it is essential that his lawyer visits him regularly in the Ryazhsk detention center. In addition, Ruslan and his lawyer are preparing for the appeal. Legal defense requires funding.
