The Father Frost Against Putin 2026 Festival will take place on January 10 in Helsinki!

Father Frost Against Putin 2026 is a festival where Russian speakers living in Finland and beyond, Finns, and people of other nationalities come together to talk about freedom, solidarity, and a future without war.

We are bringing together not only activists, but also everyone who wants to understand what is happening and find their place in the world after emigration. We invite everyone interested in overthrowing the authoritarian regime in Russia.

The program includes engaging lectures, discussions, a tasty vegan lunch at a minimal price, and a concert.

This year’s speakers:

Mikhail Lobanov — a well-known Russian mathematician, left-wing political activist, and trade-union organizer. He was an associate professor at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University. Since the start of the war, he has been repeatedly arrested and was forced to leave the country.

Lölja Nordik — an intersectional ecofeminist, activist, independent artist, and DJ from Russia. She had to escape from Russia when the war started. Co-organizer of the international DIY charity festival supporting survivors of domestic violence NE VINOVATA (Not Her Fault) and other projects.

Nika Vodvud — better known as nixelpixel, a Russian intersectional feminist and cyberactivist, and a YouTube blogger.

We want the festival to be not only about discussion, but also about meeting each other, finding inspiration, and feeling that you are not alone.

A bit of history

The festival began as a gathering in Helsinki, where political issues in Russia and ways to address them were discussed in an environment without fear of government repression. Since then, it has changed significantly — along with our lives and Russia itself. Today, it is an event that brings together the Russian-speaking diaspora and residents of Finland to exchange experiences, look for allies, and build new forms of solidarity. We welcome everyone interested in learning about the situation in Russia and how it can be changed for the better.

Event is brought to you by a coalition of A-ryhmä, Democratic Community of Russian Speakers in Finland, and Vegan-Peredachki.
