“Fires of freedom” will take part in the annual Anarchist Book Fair Amsterdam (ABFA)

On 22–23 November, the annual Anarchist Book Fair Amsterdam will take place, featuring workshops and presentations by horizontal initiatives from around the world.

At the fair you will be able to getFires of freedom” merch, as well as try — on a donation basis — the prison-style DIY korjak cake and the detainees’ drink chifir.

On Sunday “Fires of freedomwill give a presentation titled “Russian anarchist: antiwar resistance and repression”. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian anarchist movement has actively expressed its opposition to the war: from distributing leaflets to direct-action campaigns. At the same time, activists face state repression, including detentions, criminal cases and torture. Today we know of at least 22 anarchists and antifascists held in the prisons of the Putin regime. Many of them have been convicted or charged under “terrorism” articles.

When: 23 November at 15:00
Where: Amsterdam, Rapenburg 51
Language: Russian with English interpretation

Important: The presentation will not take place in the main ABFA building (Plantage Doklaan 8), but in another venue located a 7-minute walk away (Rapenburg 51). Here is the information from the organisers about all spaces used by ABFA.
