Silent revolution in Belarus

The situation in Belarus is now getting closer to the one that was during the elections in December 2010 but now it seems to be more massive and popular.
After the elections the economy collapsed without Russian dotations. The local currency devaluated almost thrice. Therefore the national bank limited the operations with foreign currencies wich led to smaller banks' collapses, blocking currency accounts and cards and long lines before the currency exschange points similar to those for toilet paper and bread in the Soviet Union. The prices for most of the goods went up by 100%. The big and small businesses that where dealing with import are closing down as they can't buy the currency. Imported cigarettes, hygiene goods, etc. have disappered. The petrol prices went up and limitations were imposed on buying it for one car.
Social unrest grows and some groups already let their steam off.

You are the best! Thank you from ABC-Belarus

Today, when the sentence was passed on Belarusian anarchists, Anarchist Black Cross-Belarus considers it a must to say the words of gratitude that had accumulated during the 8.5 months of waiting and struggle.

 Ihar Alinevich was accused of attacks against the Russian Embassy and Belarusbank ("Property destruction with intent", statute 218 paragraph 3 of the Belarusian Criminal Codex), an attack against the remand prison of Minsk (also statute 218, paragraph 2), an attack against a Casino and an illegal demonstration at the military headquarters ("Aggravated hooliganism", statute 339 paragraph 2 of Belarusian criminal codex). The prosecutor asked for a 9 year sentence in hard regime, eventually he received 8 years of hard regime (1).

Belarus: Anarchists strongly condemns terrorist attack in Minsk

A powerful explosion in a subway station "Oktyabrskaya" in Minsk 11 April 2011 during the evening rush hour. As a result, killing 12 people, more than 150 were hospitalized. April 12 Chairman of the KGB of Belarus Vadim Zaitsev announced three versions of the terrorist attack in the Minsk metro. "Today we have three versions. The first - to destabilize the situation in Belarus "- said Zaitsev told journalists on Tuesday.

Anarchy. Direct Action.

First of all, let me change the order of the story and start with our own, anarchic view of the situation: "Anarchy. Direct action " . Why? Because although instead of conversation, and you can use the stick, the words always retain their power. Words give the meaning of the surrounding reality for those who are willing to listen. They declare us the truth. And the truth is this: our country is going something wrong, is not it? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and depression, the prohibition of the right to protest a ban on thinking about the protest.Instead, we have - a system of external supervision and corporate media.

Short update of the recent repressions against anarchists in Belarus

As of right now four Belarussian anarchists are under arrest, accused of having organised a series of direct actions 2009-2010.

Everything started long before this past September(2010). The years 2009-2010  were rich in radical actions claimed by Belarusian anarchists. Such as:

 Russian-Belarusian war exercise,  when a Joint Staff was attacked with a smoke   grenade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iQ3kz0hVDM

Despite the bitter cold enough passersby eagerly took flyers.

TEXT LEAFLETS:

Solidarity with Belarusian activists

Due to the fact that the Belarusian government again resorted to political repression and shows his dictatorial essence, IFA (International of Anarchist Federations), meeting in Sofia on 30-31 October 2010, reports that:
- He is opposed to any social and political activism, organized under the institutional and hierarchical control;
- Condemns all forms of repression against activists, whether they are anarchists or not;
- Expresses its solidarity with the persecuted fellow anarchists and all the victims of the regime;

Anarchy 21

Belaurssian pamhplet "Anarchy 21" (currently only available in Russian language) is was originally published by group "Revolutionary Action" in its website ( http://belarus.avtonom.org ). Texts is controversial - in particular, the offered illegal way  was apparently premature in Belarussian context, as the recent defeat of the movement there proves - in fact, it is possible that the proposed path is much more viable in the Russian semi-democratic than Belarussian semi-totalitarian  conditions.

The call to the international days of united actions in support of belarus anarchists

In connection with the situation about repression of anarchists and social activists getting worse WE – anarchists, friends and nearests of repressed ones – are calling you to take part in Days of Solidarity with belarus Anarchists on the 10-13ths of December 2010. We consider that only international protests against repressions of independent activists trying to change things in Belarus for the better are able to make Lukashenko give the go-ahead to stop mass arrests and to close political cases of Dedok, Frantskevich and Vetkin.

This spit of all the authorities of all countries and states! The only thing they fear is courage. People who are determined to escape the burden of misinformation, not afraid to be anarchists, anti-fascists, social activists.
